Garden maintenance
Let me take care of your garden, with you in control. Regular or one-off sessions, including:-

  • Lawn care & mowing
  • Weeding and garden tidying
  • Seasonal planting and border displays
  • Pruning and hedge cutting
  • Edible gardening
  • Hanging baskets and pots.

Group work
I also work with groups so people can enjoy the benefits of gardening in a safe and sociable place (indoors or out). I can bring everything you need to your venue for table-top or container gardening. For example:-

  • Sowing seeds (herbs, veg, flowers)
  • Cuttings, division
  • Growing container veg or fruit
  • Planting for wildlife
  • Bulbs

I'm a qualified Horticulturalist and former Occupational Therapist based in Leeds. I spent 10 years working in community mental health and now specialise in social and therapeutic gardening. I offer garden

maintenance, one to one support and group work.

"Kirsty has been gardening for and with me for some years now. During this time, several of my chronic conditions have worsened and Kirsty has adapted what she does to fit in with those, which lets me still do what I can. She is excellent in enabling gardeners to retain some input and ownership of their garden as they either age or have specific physical conditions.  Obviously, if someone wants to leave it to her, she is also fine with that - as I have found during my more difficult times. I run a social group for over 70s - with many members 15-20 yrs older than that; only recently I was told by one of our older members that 'without Kirsty, I do not think I would feel confident to work in my garden any more. I am so pleased to have her help'.

As for my garden, I am grateful for Kirsty's  knowledge and advice as a trained gardener. Her care and obvious enjoyment in her work makes it a pleasure to have her never feels like she is just 'doing a job'. I highly recommend her.

"It's been delightful working with Kirsty in my own garden. It has helped me feel less overwhelmed by it and allowed me to enjoy it more.

Kirsty has also helped me to decide what to do with areas of the garden. She listens to the kind of thing I want and helps develop the ideas using her extensive knowledge of gardening"

A Jones, Leeds.

"Kirsty worked with my very elderly mum, who loved her garden, for over 3 years. Kirsty thoughtfully adapted her activities as mum became increasingly frail, involving her in appropriate ways. The garden is beautifully kept and it was wonderful to know Kirsty was entirely trustworthy and became a real friend to mum and a valuable support for the family. I would recommend her extremely highly, not just for her excellent care of the garden, but also for her sensitive care of my mum"
